During the COVID-19 Pandemic, our services are restricted to in-direct contact only. Please see COVID-19 tab for more information. 
We help adults 60+ who require temporary or long-term assistance in Washburn County and cannot obtain or afford help elsewhere.

Spooner Memorial Library and Faith in Action - Washburn County have created a new venture together to serve homebound readers in Washburn County! Books on Rails chugs along to "help homebound citizens have access to quality resources, services, and information by providing practical support services and meaningful connections."
  • Free book delivery and pick-up services - Faith in Action volunteers
  • Free book matching services and extended due dates - Spooner Memorial Library staff
  • Free access to books, including large print books and books on CDs
In order to "get your ticket" on the train, contact the Spooner Memorial Library at 715-635-2792 for the information packet.​
We bring groceries to your home...

Schmitz's Economart and Faith in Action - Washburn County have formed a partnership to create our new Grocery Grabbers program.  The mission of this FREE service is to help homebound seniors have access to quality food and develop meaningful connections to volunteers.

​Economart will fill grocery orders each week on Tuesday, and Faith in Action volunteers will deliver the orders to qualifying seniors in our community.

We teach tablet skills...

Faith in Action-Washburn County now offers a basic tablet class, Sip and Swipe Cafe'!  We can help you become more comfortable and confident using a tablet to get online and explore the worldwide web.  
  • This program is most appropriate for beginners.
  • Owning a tablet is not required.
  • Call our office to sign up for upcoming sessions!
To Qualify for Services, Recipients Must...
  • Live in Washburn County, WI
  • Be 60 years old or older
  • Get into a car or truck with little or no help from a volunteer​
  • Don’t need a volunteer to give you your medicine
  • Don’t need a volunteer to give baths or showers
  • Don’t need to be lifted or moved
