Cleveland Family Encourages Donations
Neighbor to Neighbor Nearing the End of a Three Year Capital Campaign
Two years ago, Washburn County residents Carolyn Cleveland and her late husband Dave pledged a three-year matching donation to Neighbor to Neighbor. “Dave and I envisioned a generous community response to our challenge grant to Neighbor to Neighbor, and it has been very gratifying that so many local businesses and residents have responded with their donations,” said Carolyn Cleveland, who also volunteers for the organization.
Neighbor to Neighbor is now entering the third year of our Capital campaign. “I have high hopes for this third year of community support that helps so many of our Washburn County seniors,” Comments Carolyn Cleveland.
“Through generous donations from the Clevelands and our community. Neighbor to Neighbor made significant progress on behalf of the seniors and adults with disabilities we serve,” said Thomas Gahm, chair of the organization. “We now have our own office and community meeting area for seniors and volunteers. We have a full-time director, increased our programming, and visibility in the community which attracted more volunteers to assist seniors and adults with disabilities.”

Neighbor to Neighbor (FIA) has received a pledge of $150,000 − three $50,000 annual gifts for 2022, 2023 and 2024 − from Washburn County residents Dave and Carolyn Cleveland. The pledge comes with a challenge for Neighbor to Neighbor to raise an additional $50,000 in community donations each of the three years. So, a successful three-year Neighbor to Neighbor campaign would total $300,000 in new funds for the organization. These funds will assist Washburn County residents age 60 and above with the volunteer services they need for independent living.
Neighbor to Neighbor (FIA) plans to use the additional funds for significant expansion of programs for seniors.
